WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader

Upgrades can give you boosts in certain stats. Each upgrade increases item upgrader mod level by 3. Each upgrade also boosts the random substatus.

Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless it is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like Eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are not as valuable for those with higher variance due to the requirement to roll an exact version.

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any kind of armor or weapon. However, the item used for the upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and can't be used again. Upgrades can be applied to the enchantments.

The upgrader is located in every major city, and can be visited at any time to upgrade your gear. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every few weeks.

The cost of upgrading will depend on the current level of the equipment being upgraded however, they will always be cheaper than purchasing new equipment from other sources. For instance, upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to 385 levels will cost 20 recycle points, while buying a similar item upgrader kit from another player will cost 105.

For instance it's a good idea to make use of all your Whelpling-rank crests on the top equipment available, and then save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you plan to make.
