World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. They also increase bonuses, such as crit chance and PvE damage.

If the weapon's upgrade template is %, it will increase 3% of its previous damage for every time it is upgraded.

The cost of upgrading an item is determined by the item's level. The cost increases as the item's level rises.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into armor, weapons, and trinkets in order to provide an additional stat boost or effect while they're in use. They can be acquired through crafting, purchasing from vendors trading, or looting. Some upgrades also have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be applied to equipment with a slot. The item must be upgraded to a blue level before the component can be applied. In contrast to other mods components can only be used once; they cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a specific kind of upgrade component that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment, as well as some of the items that are not ascending back. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging gear that is ascended or completing an elite task in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade could include a suffix or prefix changing the name of the item to which it is used (for instancethe "Canthan Armor Insignia is changed to Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades boost an item's Mark Level, or Rarity, allowing players to create stronger versions of the equipment with the smallest amount of upgrade item Crystals than would be required to achieve the same level of upgrade through normal methods.

A boost upgrade is a way to modify the attack or defense attributes of a weapon or armor. These upgrades can be made using the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them in the cash shop, or by getting them from enemies while upgrading other equipment.

Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a better-quality version of an item will be dropped during the next reset. This gives players the opportunity to upgrade their gear even if they are unsure what will be improved following an update.

Whether a boost upgrade is successful or not, the process can be costly and there is a significant chance that the item could be obsolete or even break when it fails. A failure to upgrade can cause the destruction of the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder, as well as the upgraded item. Cash shop items can be used to decrease or eliminate the chance of failure. Some upgrades also give the player a bonus if they are reinserted.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade components that can be placed in special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs increase the power of nodes within a radius, which includes any pre-existing attaches. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways, and we recommend upgrading them to 15 levels as soon as possible.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can decide to replace it with a different Glyph of the same rank or higher rank, which will boost the value of the Glyph.

Glyphs can be found in the Black Lion Trading Post as part of a Gem Store bundle or purchase, with certain unlimited-use tools and also during Faction Crypt Raids. Every Faction Crypt will drop one of these Glyphs. There are also some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have the desired Glyphs then you have to attach them to your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a unique bonus that boosts the stats of a specific set of nodes in the vicinity of the Glyph. Based on the Glyph the bonus will be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs boost all nodes connected to them, so it is recommended to place Glyphs in the most important spots on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. For instance that a Druid should try to position their Glyphs near their primary damage nodes, but also be sure to place them near the most critical damage nodes as well.

Leveling

The item upgrading system allows players to improve the stats of specific items by putting upgraded components in them. This is often referred to as "upping". Each upgradeable item comes with a level that determines its upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be leveled until they reach a maximum level of ilvl 385. Each level of an item upgrader mod requires various components, and upgrade costs increase with each level.

Certain upgrades require a certain ingredient to activate. This ingredient can be obtained by making Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be bought from NPCs, or on the upgrade tab of crafting tables. Each completed Upgrade Recipe yields a number of Technology Points. These points can be used for the upgrading of an item. When enough points have been earned you will be able to claim your upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.

When a player upgrades an item to a higher level, the original item is replaced with a new item of the same kind. The same armor can be transformed into a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item also has its own set bonus. This could be a disadvantage, as the item level upgrade can increase in price even if you do not require it.

Upgrades to items can be rerolled if the player has enough reroll tokens to do this. This causes the item to be exchanged for a new one, which will come with an initial level and a different set of bonuses. This is a good option for some items, but it shouldn't be repeated often, as it could waste a lot of resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled many times, increasing their value and allows the player to modify their equipment.
